TRW uses PROTIS
TRW has been using the PROTIS complaint management system in its European Braking System division since January 1, 2005.
PROTIS is now helping TRW address complaints more effectively at 8 locations throughout Europe.
Holger Feldpausch, Senior Manager Quality Assurance European Braking & Suspension, expressed his satisfaction following the launch and the first few months of operation, saying
"We want to be able to react to complaints and resolve them to the complete satisfaction of everyone involved – not just manage them!
With PROTIS, we now have a tool in hand that enables us to react to complaints with a better customer focus and – most importantly – more effectively and quickly.
In addition, we are using PROTIS Lesson Learned to communicate issues to the relevant departments."
DoE - Design of Experiments
As a solutions provider for Total Quality Engineering, PLATO is now offering Design of Experiments (DoE) to provide expertise in a broader method of preventive quality management.
What is DoE?
Design of Experiments is a procedure that can be used to reduce the number of experiments required and thus improve the cost-effectiveness and quality of development.
Detailed experiment plans and targeted factors are used to describe quality characteristics in the development or optimization of processes or products.
What are the benefits of such a procedure?
The same information can be gathered at considerably lower costs compared with ad hoc experiments. The results of new settings that have not yet been tested can be calculated with greater accuracy.
The procedure is especially beneficial when many factors influence the system that is being evaluated, for example, in the field of vehicle safety or when optimizing process technology processes.
Depending on the application, DoE methods can save up to 70% of costs that would normally arise if traditional experiments were needed.
